Welcome! My name is Michelle and I am the admin. I am the mother of 3 children at home and one in heaven. My son Matthew was born premature at just 22 weeks on 3-19-04. He weighed 15.6 ounces and was 10 inches long. He was only expected to live 10 minutes but survived for 2 days. Please visit my facebook page to read more about him. Our personal March for Babies link is www.marchforbabies.org/momtoanangelboy. My niece MacKenzie was born premature as well at just 29 weeks. She spent 7 weeks in the NICU. 2 weeks after being released she contracted meningitis. She has been through a lot in her life. She has already had 4 brain surgeries. She will soon be 4 years old and has a little brother Mason who was born premature as well. That is why my family and I believe in the mission of the March of Dimes. It has personally affected our family. That is one of the reason I started this site.
I hope this page is a source of information for parents who have a premature child as well as providing information on navagating the NICU. There are so many questions when a baby is born premature. I hope this page provides some answers for such questions and brings some comfort. This site will also provide information on pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. The site is currently being worked on as I am new at web design and will be updated soon!
